Covered in the press today is another example of the insanity of some British laws.
A young driver, untaxed and uninsured overturned a car, which resulted in the death of a female passenger. He was found guilty of driving without a licence, insurance and road-tax (all 3 for the second time)He was fined £25 for no licence, fined £200 for no insurance and banned from driving for a year.
Now here's the insanity.....£25 fine for no licence. It costs more than that to sit a test. Secondly £200 for no insurance....it would cost at least a £1000 to insure him if anyone was mad enough to take him on and thirdly, banned for a year. He didn't have a licence in the first place,so what are they taking away ?
When are British courts going to wake up ? If the penalty is cheaper than the legit way why should anyone bother to be law abiding.
