Travellers facing eviction from an illegal camp in Crays Hill in Essex have built a £12,000 community hall on the site,with taxpayers money. "Travellers" moved on to the camp near Basildon, eight years ago (not much travelling here then)and have twice defied court orders to leave. What exactly is that then, does a council official pop along every 4 years and say
" Hello ,old chaps....would you mind awfully and move along" and in the meantime another council official gives them a grant to build a community hall.
This is officialdom gone mad.
Lets drop the name travellers. That conjures up the picture of a curved roof caravan, pulled by a pie-bald horse, winding its way down a country lane. In reality they are layabouts,scroungers and parasites.Crime rate increases everywhere they go and they are still treated with kid gloves.
A couple of years ago they occupied a local carpark with their lorries and caravans for almost a month before departing , leaving a pile of rubbish and filth for the council to clear up. All this went unpunished.In the same carpark I received a £45 fine for overstaying my ticket by 8 minutes.
British justice ? Don't make me laugh.....it might wake up those snoozing in councils offices up and down the country.
