Surely Commons Speaker Michael Martin is taking the p**s.
Not content with claiming for property that he doesnt
have a mortgage on, getting a free house in London, sending his wife shopping in a taxpayers taxi, giving taxpayers Airmiles to his family and unlike others, refusing to half his massive pension,he has now seen fit to spend £1.7m of taxpayers money on renovations on the Speakers House and gardens since he got the job.
The Speaker said that much of the expense was "post 9/11" security work.
The only danger to The Speaker is that he might fall off his fat "tax-funded" wallet and injure himself.

I heard recently of an amount spent on furnishing a property which seemed far too extravagant. The cost may seem small up to the vast amounts accountants help swindle the taxpayer out of, but I'm sure we would all prefer it was spent on hospitals not paintings.
It would appear that the man is so arrogant, conceited and convinced of his own vital importance to the Universe, that he cannot see what a cheap, nasty, little crook he is.
